We said this many times over the years, but the one type of person that Debbie and I are collectively the most jealous of in this life are songwriters. The ability to craft lyrical poetry and put it to original music is a talent we cannot even fathom and continue to be knocked out by it.
Over the years, we’ve been afforded the opportunity to be around some of the most prolific, and deep-thinking songwriters in the world. And one thing we can tell you for a fact is there’s no one way to skin a cat. Whether it’s [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Miranda Lamrbert[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Keith Urban[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jake Owen[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Trent Tomlinson[/lastfm], or [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Taylor Swift[/lastfm]-all are talented crafters of song, and all go about it a different way with different methods and intentions.
For example, Keith Urban will actually make appointments to write songs. Jake keeps bit and pieces of songs on file on his laptop and will work on them, off and on, until they are finished. Trent…well, for Trent, the music never stops in his head. He’s probably written more songs that everyone we’ve listed combined. He describes it as his blessing and his curse.
And [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Taylor Swift[/lastfm]? She’s got her own style as well…
