Early Ray Talks Fried Pickles & Wild Things

EarlyRay

Growing up in South Carolina, Early Ray has been around the Carolina’s for most his life other then the times he traveled to Asia, Germany, Australia, and Europe.  A country boy thats been all around the world?  Don’t worry his music still rocks!  What else makes Early so interesting?  Other then his love for Fried Pickles and Sweet Tea Vodka?

I’ve been lucky enough to call Early Ray a friend for the last few years and learn about him.  He grew up on the Catawba River in Rock Thrill, SC (Rock Hill) playing local bars and listenin to Hank Sr. & Jr., Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels and all the good time old country.

Eventually Early started playing different kinds of music and ended up getting into a few garage bands and even playing bass in a shock-rock band that traveled the world playing for crowds as big as one hundred thousand people!  Selling out shows in Japan, Australia and all over Europe.  If ya ever get a chance ask him about the fun they had in those countries, theres great stories to be told.

After touring with the shock-rock band Early returned here to the Carolina’s to follow his dreams of being a country artist.  With a great talent for writing music he started playing originals along with cover songs all over the Carolinas.  For a while he spent some time on the road opening up for artist like [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Corey Smith[/lastfm] which was the first place I ever saw Early play!

Early has this original, acoustic sound, that no one else has really been able to capture.  He also has this great rock side to his country which makes his songs great for riding down the road or getting ready for a night on the town.  Earlier this year he released his first 6-pack album “Highway To Jail.”  (Which you can buy right now on iTunes for only $5.94)

“Highway To Jail” is filled with great originals and one cover song!  I gotta say one of my favorites has to be the whole album!  Well if I had to pick one, I would say it would be “Fried Pickles” which fits most the girls I’ve dated.  Another would have to be “Goin Big.”  Well I think with the name BIG SEXY, you can figure out why I like that one.

Early Ray will be playing tonight at Country Night at the Saloon with a full band and serve as the official after-party for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Darius Rucker[/lastfm]‘s show. 18 and up welcome plus Free Parking!  Don’t miss this great event and come check out some live, local, amazing, country music!

Heres the full song off his album “Where The Wild Things Are”

the guy has tried every genre.. Hes not a country boy, he’s tried boy band, mohawk punk rock, crappy sappy covers and what else is left? oh yea country… His name is Rayen so why are you calling him Early? I saw them at rudder a couple weeks back and the best thing about Early wasn’t him, it was the violinist.. He’s a dime a dozen in Nashville…But for rock hill, hes a rockstar…
