He Just Turned 50: Toby Keith Already Earns AARP Honor!
[photogallerylink id=60357 align=left] It really is quite an honor for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Toby Keith[/lastfm], who just turned 50 this year to receive the AARP’s 2012 ‘Inspire Award‘ for his dedication to our military members, as “The Supporter of U.S. Troops.” But I betcha Toby felt a little ‘sting’ when the AARP sent their official “Happy 50th Birthday” gift this year to Toby…same thing that is sent to every American who turns 50, which is an invitation to join the group dedicated to retired Americans! Like lots of folks who turned 50 this year, Toby Keith seems to be nowhere near retirement, he is definitely still going strong! Most people his age still feel ‘young’ and vibrant….until they receive that ‘personal invite’ from the AARP!
Toby was selected for the 2012 AARP Inspire Award, for his work and dedication to entertaining our U.S. troops in the Middle East. Since his first USO/Armed Forces Entertainment Tour in the Middle East in 2002, he has returned eight times. Toby’s very first trip was a tribute to his late Father who was an army veteran. When Toby saw the impact he made on our troops overseas, he continued with his personal mission.
God bless America, our troops and the families, and Toby Keith too!
