It seems like [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eric Church[/lastfm] is usually an easy going guy, but theres one thing that really makes him mad! Its not folks that download there music offline, and its not traffic on 77, but instead one thing that he really doesn’t find fair!
Its Tickets Scalpers. This is one thing I really agree with him on too! These scalpers buy the tickets cheap and then when the show sells out, just makes the price outrageous! As much as $280! I mean don’t get me wrong Eric puts on a great show, but thats a lot of money! When asked how Eric feels he told Billboard “Scalpers piss me off!”
Some of these scalpers are taking it to the next level and joining his Church Choir club, buying 80 tickets that there allowed and then reselling them at a very marked-up price! So how did Eric find out about it? Well they looked at a show in a place like Pikeville, Kentucky, and saw that 25 orders came from Connecticut, Las Vegas, New York or Milwaukee and knew it wasn’t right!
So they put into order a new policy that if you buy tickets and resell them, its grounds to cancel your membership! Eric believes its not about making money for him, so why should anyone else be buying tickets and marking them up? Its just not fair.
I think that says a lot about Eric as a person, and that hes not like some artists who are in it for the money, but instead for the music. It makes me wanna support an artist so much more after I see an artist’s passion for the music!
