Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine may cover many genres of music in her band including rock and soul, but country music was never one of them until now.
Along with the help of Queens of the Stone Age frontman, Josh Homme, the duo took on a cover of Johnny and June Carter Cash’s classic track, “Jackson.”
The track, which will be featured on Florence + The Machine’s “MTV Unplugged,” covers the song as it is meant to be, starting slowly, but working into a full version of the song.
The performance was recorded in New York, backed by a 10 piece gospel choir, and featuring some of the band’s biggest hits.
Besides “Jackson” the band also takes on a cover of “Try A Little Tenderness.”
Florence + The Machine: MTV Unplugged is in stores now on CD and deluxe CD/DVD.
