Will Miranda Lambert and Ashton Kutcher ever be friends? After Miranda’s pointed remarks (via Twitter) about Kutcher’s appearance and actions during the 2012 ACM Awards, it’s hard to say. But the two will at least get a chance to reconcile in person next weekend.
According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, both Kutcher and Lambert are scheduled to appear at the Barnstable Brown Gala, a pre-Kentucky Derby event in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, May 4.
The list of celebrity guests is a long one, and Lambert isn’t the only country artist invited. The roster also includes The Band Perry, Wynonna Judd, Kid Rock, Clay Walker, Travis Tritt, Lee Ann Womack, and Eddie Montgomery, among others.
For the past couple decades, the Barnstable Brown Gala has been hosted by twin sisters Patricia Barnstable Brown and Priscilla Barnstable, their mother Wilma Barnstable, and Tricia’s son Chris Brown.
Patricia and Priscilla, by the way, were the famed “Doublemint Twins” featured in many Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum commercials.
As for the beef between Kutcher and Lambert, that dates back to the ACM Awards in Las Vegas earlier this month. A presenter during the ceremony, Kutcher caused a stir when he appeared in a kitschy cowboy outfit and sang a bit of George Strait.

Lambert (who Kutcher presented with the Female Vocalist of the Year award) took to Twitter the following day and wondered about his sincerity.
Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I'm kinda wondering?—

Kutcher, for his part, claims he meant no harm:
@Miranda_Lambert I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you've ever met. Wasn't making fun at all.—

Though he did later get a little more defensive:
I grew up idolizing the style of the Highway Men, Hank, Merle, Patsy Cline, Dolly. Starting to wonder if new country just doesn't get it.—

The Kentucky Derby party, then, offers the two a chance to have a conversation in person and, who knows, maybe resolve their differences.
