“I got this song for you brother, but now do we have the time to do it.” After negotiating schedules so Lionel Richie and Billy Currington could get into the studio at the same time (“We’ve been dancing this dance for the longest time”), their efforts finally paid off.

“This is the right song…and you nailed it,” says Richie.

“Just For You” is one of 13 duets on Lionel Richie’s chart-topping (and now platinum) album Tuskegee, and the official video is finally available.

As a bonus, we also get a glimpse of the two artists — a barefoot Billy and a doo-rag-wearing Richie — during the recording session. The behind-the-scenes footage offers an appreciation of the collaboration that went into recording of the song.

Currington says, “Working with Lionel in the studio and recording ‘Just For You’ – which is an amazing song – was so much fun and truly an honor. As everyone knows Lionel is extremely talented and I can’t wait to perform live with him on these shows.”

Tuskegee held the top spot on the Billboard Top 200 for two consecutive weeks. It was also Number One on the Billboard Country Albums chart for four straight weeks.

And just this week, Tuskegee earned platinum status for sales over more than 1 million copies.
