There have been many a song lyric written about women’s lips, just like the ones written in the title of my post by Lady Antebellum.  Personally, I’m a lip gloss kind of girl  but I digress.

Which color of lipstick do men prefer??  We really worry about this one don’t we girls?  (uhm not really)

Yet, there’s a brand new study out that finds that men do indeed prefer RED lipstick.  People actually spent money researching this.  They asked a group of waitresses serving nearly 500 customers to wear either red, brown or pink lipstick.  And shocker, male customers were more likely to tip waitresses wearing red and tip ALOT more.  The other colors had no effect on tipping.

I asked American  Hero intern Nate to give me the male perspective.

I’m with Catherine on this one!  I’m not a fan of the lipstick, no matter what the color.  To me it just looks cheap and for some reason whenever I see a woman sporting the red lipstick look, I get flashbacks from the movie “Pretty Woman”.  Now Julia Roberts is a magnificently gorgeous girl, but she was also a prostitute in that flick.

So unless that’s the look you’re shooting for, my suggestion would be to lay off the lipstick ladies.  It’s old fashioned and a tad trashy.  Plus nothing ruins a perfectly romantic moment after a steamy smooch more than catching a glimpse of your reflection afterwards and noticing you look like you just finished a dish with Hannibal Lecter.  I don’t know much but I do know that cannibalism is never a good look.  But that’s just my personal opinion.  Catherine’s right on point with the lip gloss suggestion.  The less junk you throw on your faces the better.  Keep it simple and classy.
