There are few things more American than enjoying a sunny afternoon with friends, loved ones, food and drinks. Whether you’re spending your Memorial day by the lake, ocean or relaxing at home, these delicious treats are the perfect way to add some red, white and blue to your party. Show off your patriotism and impress your guests this Memorial day with these fun and delicious ideas.

Flag Fruit Skewers:

All you will need for this healthy snack are blueberries, bananas and strawberries. Simply slice the bananas and strawberries and slide all three fruits onto wooden skewers. You can alternate fruit for a red, white and blue pattern or arrange the skewers on a platter in an American flag design. Use these fruits to also make a Five Minute Patriotic Pie.

Red, White and Blue Shooter:

Festive shots are always a good time and a big hit with guests. Each shot will consist of 1/3 once of Grenadine, 1/3 ounce of Peach Schnapps or Vodka and 1/3 ounce of Blue Curacao. To create a layered effect, slowly pour the liquor into shot glases in the order listed. Click here for similar shots and cocktails.

All-American Chips & Dip:

This classic dip will get the party off to a great start and is extremely low maintenance. For a nice savory dip, mix one container (16 ounces) of Breakstone’s Sour Cream with one envelope of Good Season’s Parmesan Italian or Italian Dressing Mix. Stir the ingredients until they are blended, cover and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Serve with blue and red corn chips.

Strawberry Cocktail:

For a bubbly and refreshing afternoon drink, mix strawberry schnapps, club soda and vodka. Serve over ice and add a few strawberries or blueberries to add color and flavor!

USA Cupcakes:

For a sweet treat that kids are sure to love, use any white cupcake recipe and separate the batter into thee bowls. Using food color, dye one of the bowls red and another blue. You can layer the different batters or stick with solid colors. Bake and decorate with festive sprinkles! If you’re up for a challenge, try Red, White and Tie-Dyed Cupcakes.

Patriotic Margarita:

This refreshing cocktail features HPNOTIQ liquor and dark rum. Mix 2 tablespoons of puree thawed frozen strawberries, coconut milk, dark rum, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice and 1/2 cup crushed ice and blend until you have a smooth consistency. First pour the bottom layer, two to four table spoons of HPNOTIQ. On top, slowly pour the same amount of the strawberry mixture for a blue and red layered margarita.
