It’s a great year for Carrie Underwood, whose new album “Blown Away” is number one on the charts for the fourth week in a row.  The American Idol winner and country superstar called into Tanner in the Morning  to chat about her success, the possibility of being an American Idol judge and even spills an embarrassing story about husband Mike Fisher.

Though she hasn’t celebrated her number one just yet, she does remember the artist that knocked her debut album out of the top spot.  “My very first album, Madonna of all people put out an album and kept me from having my first album be number one,” Carrie laughs recalling the debut of her 2005 album Some Hearts.  She’s come a long way since then, all of her albums since have topped the charts and are multi-platinum award winners.  Though, she denied Tanner’s idea of a celebratory pizza party for all of her fans who bought the album. “That wouldn’t run me any amount [of money],” she joked sarcastically.

And it’s her carefree, joking attitude that gets the most attention while she’s on stage.  Though she’s a versatile singer, able to own the stage whether it’s a ballad or an uptempo dance song, she admits she loves being sassy on stage.  “I like the sassy songs because it seems like those are the ones that people can get into” especially with her new single ‘Good Girl’ and other big hits like ‘Last Name’ and ‘Before He Cheats’.

Switching over to a more personal subject, Carrie had no trouble opening up about her husband, Nashville Predator Mike Fisher. “He knows more music than I give him credit for.  He got made fun of a little bit when he was a little bit younger because he liked the Backstreet Boys,” she laughed.  But that wasn’t the end of the embarrassing admission.  “[Once] there was media at practice and he didn’t know his teammates stuck Backstreet Boys stickers all over his helmet.“

Success, love, fame, music… all these things wouldn’t be nearly as possible, though, without the help of American Idol.  With rumors swirling that Jennifer Lopez is quitting after this last season, Tanner asked the question everyone’s dying to know.  What are the chances Carrie will take that empty judges seat?  “I love that show and I love being apart of that show and if they ever said ‘hey we need you to do anything’ I totally would.  I don’t know if I would make the best judge though,” she admits meekly.  ” Obviously I know what it’s like to be on the show and what happens after the show but I don’t know if I can be critical.  When the judges do say something negative, people boo them.  I would cry!“

So we may not see Carrie judging on the next season of American Idol but she’s not ruling out any possibilities. What about the $15 million paycheck? “Well when you put it that way,” she laughs loudly.
