Not only does American Idol love country singers, they love Carolinians.

Case and Point: Kellie Pickler! Then there’s Clay Aiken and Fantasia Burrino from the Carolinas, and Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, and Kelly Clarkson (if she counts) on country radio.

Well American Idol is coming back to find their next star for Season 12! They’ll be holding auditions at Time Warner Cable Arena on Tuesday, June 19 with registration occurring around the clock on 7 a.m.  Sunday, June 17 – Tuesday.

Translation: Get in line early before they open the door at 7 a.m. Tuesday! They’re expecting 15,000 Kellie Pickler and Scotty McCreery wannabes. And if you’re not auditioning, just be advised about the traffic!

Fitting that it’s being held at the arena, after one of their finalists last season was Bobcats LadyCat dancer Brittany Kerr, who went on to perform with Billy Currington when he was here in Charlotte.

So if you’re an aspiring singer, go audition and make Charlotte proud … and keep it country! haha And hopefully we’ll be playing your hit on The New 103.7 one day!
