Georgia sweetheart Joanna Smith is back!  After some time away from the country music scene, the blonde spunky singer is more excited than ever to make her way to fans.  As day two of her 10 week radio tour began, she pulled into The New 103.7 studios and gave us an exclusive performance of her new smash ‘We Can’t Be Friends’.

After finding out the song was on hold for Kenny Chesney, she waited patiently until she could take the reigns on the highly relatable track.  “I’m just sitting there holding my breath and in the end, he decided that it was stronger from the female perspective and I think that was a good decision on his part because my favorite line in the song is about wearing a dress,” she laughed before giving us a peek at the ballad.

On top of her stunning voice and energetic demeanor, she excitedly told us about a fun experience she had in a small cafe which influenced another great song called ‘Broken Dishes’.  “I was at a restaurant in Mexico and I was talking to the waitress… and she was like ‘one time we had to close this place down in the middle of the week for a few days’,” she told us before continuing. “Mom caught Pop with a young waitress he hired and she broke every dish in the restaurant and I thought… if anything’s a song that’s it.“

Being a singer songwriter isn’t an easy feat but she’s taking the reigns in Nashville, co-writing her songs and adding her Tammy Wynette-like flair to the tracks.  Listen to her new single “We Can’t Be Friends” below and tell us what you think!
