An Atlanta, Georgia woman selected to be an Olympic torch bearer said the tattoo she got to commemorate the event misspells the word “Olympic” as “Oylmpic.” The 57-year-old, Jerri Peterson said she always wanted a tattoo but never felt passionate about any one thing to have it permanently painted on her body. She added, “So when I was selected for this wonderful honor, I thought “that’s it – I’m ready to have my tattoo.” She only realized the mistake after sending a photo to a friend. She explained, “I looked at it and I was so disappointed. I called my husband and he giggled a little bit. Then I started laughing about it and I’ve laughed ever since.” Peterson was one of 70 people selected to be a torch bearer because of the charity work she has done. She plans to keep the tattoo, she said, because “it is as unique as I am.” (The Sun)
