Despite losing a band member, Gloriana is back with their second studio album A Thousand Miles Left Behind. Former Gloriana lady, Cheyenne Kimball, shocked fans and the rest of the band when she left last summer. Kimball simply left after a show in Missouri and never came back. With no warning, the band-mates found out about her leaving through one of her tweets. Now the trio consists of brothers Tom and Mike Gossin and Rachel Reinert.

Dramatic changes such as the lack of a voice could have been devastating to the band, but their blending harmonies sound as perfect as ever. They have held onto their signature sound in the midst of competing bands like Lady Antebellum and Sugarland. The first single off the album, ‘(Kissed You) Good Night’ was a smash hit. The band even performed the song live on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette.

‘Can’t Shake You’ is also a stand out track on the album. The powerful chorus and lyrics have all of the components for a country radio hit. The band then slows things down a bit with the sweet and smooth track, ‘Carolina Rose.’Gloriana co-wrote every single song on the new album, along with their producer Matt Serletic.

It would have been easy for the band to throw in the towel after some major challenges, but Gloriana has emerged stronger than ever. Not only is the sound a giant success, their song-writing abilities are showcased. A Thousand Miles Behind give you a nice variety of fun, upbeat songs and slow, lovely melodies. Fans need not worry about the future of Gloriana, it seems like they are still on their way up.
