Kimberly just seemed tickled to death when we talked to her this morning!  With Little Big Town’s new hit “Pontoon” climbing up the charts rapidly, Kimberly has every reason to be excited. The song has that fun, sexy feel that is just pulling country fans in!

We asked her what this little song was about to her and how its success has impacted the band.

“Oh, just a little old boat. Just having a good time on a little old boat…We can’t believe it. We knew when we heard this song it was going to be something special. It’s just fun and so lighthearted. And when we recorded it, we thought you know what, it’s going to be summertime. Let’s make it the first single off the record, and then holy cow. It has done amazingly, and we are having the time of our lives I’m telling you.”

With “Pontoon,” LBT’s career is flourishing. They are getting involved with all kinds of new things, and their tour with Rascal Flatts has been a great thing for them as well. They will be hitting the stage in Charlotte on August 9!

“We’ve got all kind of stuff buzzing around. We recently wrote the theme song for Good Afternoon America, that new show on ABC. We’re in New York City today. Yesterday we were on that show, and so we’re still here today. We’re leaving out today to go to Minneapolis for WE Fest, and then we will be in your neck of the woods in just a few days.”

The Eli Young Band is also involved with the tour. Mike Eli just had his first child recently. Kimberly and the rest of LNT are experienced when it comes to juggling their music career with their children. We asked Kimberly if she had been giving any parenting advice to the new father.

“We have talked so much about babies with those guys in the last few weeks. I have fallen in love with those boys. They are precious, precious! We do take all our kids out on the road, so we have three kiddos on our bus, which you can only imagine what that’s like. We talk to Mike a lot, and they all want to have kids and we’ve been talking about how to have kids on the road and they’ll figure it out.”

LBT’s newest album will drop on September 11, and remember that they will be in Charlotte next Thursday, August 9 with the Rascal Flatts Changed Tour.
