It’s been merely four months since Jake Owen released his latest single “The One That Got Away” and those four months were too long for him.  He conjured up a special four song EP called Endless Summer to keep the new music train rolling.  Though only four songs make the cut, he refused to let anymore time pass before releasing some new tracks.  “These days if you can put out stuff instantly with iTunes and Spotify, I just figured we need to break the mold a bit and stop waiting a year or two before putting out new music.”

In keeping with his Florida roots, the EP consists of four summer friendly anthems that fans can play year round.  While “Summer Jam” features new tourmates and friends Florida Georgia Line, “Pass A Beer”, “Steal My Kisses” and “Surefire Feeling” have been sitting in Owen’s back pocket for years.  “[The EP] just kind of keep the summer rolling along,” he explains before continuing that he’s had these songs on deck for awhile.  Between not making cuts on previous albums and his inspiration from his own endless summers in Florida, Owen knew these songs had to be released.

While he’s flying high sitting at number one on the iTunes country charts and in the top 10 of the all-genre iTunes charts, Owen has more to celebrate than his musical successes.

“It’s super cool we have our little girl on the way, so I’m really excited,” he opens up about his newlywed life that is in overdrive.  “Why is it that 9 months in any other time of your life seems like it take a year or longer but 9 months when your wife is pregnant seems like it’s gone by in 9 days,” he laughs before showing a bit of anxiety over the new impending fatherhood.  “I’m constantly feeling like there’s something I need to do more, like I need to be more prepared when she comes along.”

Though there isn’t much he can do now but make his wife Lacey more comfortable in her pregnancy (she’s due in November), he is over the moon about seeing his new baby girl being born.  “Oh yeah, I”m gonna be there.  That’s gonna be something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”  It seems Jake Owen has accomplished a lot since signing his record deal with RCA seven years ago and just this week, he had a bit of a revelation.

“What’s wild is I joined a golf club yesterday… and it’s the same golf club I worked at when I came to town.  It kind of all hit me yesterday, my new EP is coming out, my wife is expecting a child,” he says in such a way you can picture a smile on the singer’s face.  And with seven years of life changing moments under his belt, he has no problem making the statement everyone hopes to one day: “My life has come full circle.”

Jake Owen’s Endless Summer EP is available now on iTunes for digital download.

Fans can catch Owen on tour this fall with CMT On Tour: The Summer Never Ends with supporting acts Florida Georgia Line and Love & Theft.  He’ll be rolling through Charlotte on October 26 at Coyote Joe’s.
