Under The Firesuit: Getting To Know Cosmo Magazine’s Bachelor TJ Ford of Charlotte
Getting to know Charlotte’s own TJ Ford who’s up for “Bachelor of the Year” in Cosmopolitan Magazine
(Check out the COSMO ARTICLE)
So you’re a Jackman for a pit crew team, that’s a pretty big deal – how did you get into that?
After years of racing motocross, sustaining as many injuries as I could take, I decided it was time for change. Walt Smith, a pit-crew legend and successful pit coach, asked me if I would be interested in trying out for Jr Motorsports’ very first team. After consideration, I took him up on his offer and won the job as the jackman on that particular crew.
What do you do when you’re not over the wall?
When I’m not performing my on-track duties of pitting the racecar for Team Lowe’s Racing or training with my teammates, you can find me in a Charlotte warehouse where my business is located. I co-own a ‘white-glove’ delivery business that warehouses and delivers furniture for interior designers and furniture stores. Contact The Delivery Connector for any of those needs! (shameless plug haha) If I’m not doing either of those, I’m on my road-bike (bicycle that is) logging miles, or spending time with my close friends.
Girls have deemed you the sexiest man in North Carolina – so what makes a woman sexy to you?
To me, the most “sexy” attribute a woman can have is a great personality for sure. Looks, although help, only go so far… without personality an attractive woman can quickly become non-attractive! Seriously!
Also, fitness is a great characteristic. I think its a lot of fun to work-out with a significant other. It allows you to encourage each other to keep going, which ultimately brings you closer together.
They call you a bachelor, what would it take for you to settle down? (some special insight for you ladies! ha) ;)
Haha, Good question! In all honesty, I look forward to “settling down” with someone. Family is very important to me, and I look forward to the day I begin my own. Commitment is about selflessness. When I feel I can promise that to someone, I certainly will.
What’s the biggest turn-on/turn-off for you about women? Biggest turn-on is “humbled confidence.” There is such thing! Biggest turn-off besides hearing a girl pee, haha (I know- I’m weird like that), would be a woman constantly cursing.
Any tips for men on picking up women&being a bachelor?/Best pick-up line or approach?
Yes, although pick-up lines can be comical, a simple (yet confident) approach is… “Hey, I just wanted to introduce myself to you. I’m TJ, What’s your name?” (Use your own name of course)
Being yourself is the main thing, because everyone can see right through you when you’re not.
Favorite food: Italian
Favorite quote/bible verse: Philippians 4:13 I can do ALL things through Christ which strengthens me. (Life verse/ Motivation)
Favorite NASCAR track: Sonama, CA (wine country)
Favorite country song: Only a Country Girl by my buddy Chase Rice
Also, Florida Georgia Line’s Cruise, which Chase Rice helped write.
Carrie Underwood or Jana Krammer?: That’s a tough one.. but I have to go with Carrie Underwood on this one.
