There have been shows about New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and even Miami but this year, the world got a glimpse into the world of country superstars in ABC’s new smash hit “Nashville.” One of the main characters is played by the cute and sassy Hayden Panettiere who admitted she based her character off of country mega star Carrie Underwood. But as soon as the first episode aired and viewers got a glimpse at Panettiere’s character, Juliette, who ends up being conniving and pretty sexual, country fans began to wonder if the comparison was accurate. While speaking to The New 103.7‘s Catherine Lane, Carrie opened up about the comparison.
Earlier this month, Hayden told USA Today about her love for Carrie. ”She’s one of those girls that doesn’t do the whole dancing-around-choreography thing but has that stage presence like no other,” Hayden said of Carrie.”She can just stand there and be incredibly interesting.” While Taylor Swift would have been the obvious choice for the actress to learn from, ultimately her inspiration was Carrie.
So what did Carrie have to say to being compared to such a sultry and outrageous character? ”She definitely is sparkles and has the big blonde hair going on,” Carrie laughs while quickly addressing the more offending parts.
“As long as she says she patterns her look after me and not a lot about the character…” the singer jokes before adding. “She’s kind of the mean girl!”
Carrie Underwood is currently on her Blown Away Tour with Hunter Hayes, which will be hitting Charlotte on November 3 at Time Warner Cable Arena.
