Stepping Out Against Autism At The Autism Speaks Walk 2012 – Join The Crusade For A Cure
This was written by a dear friend of BIG SEXY and I, Otis from our sister station, Kiss 95.1 …
My niece was diagnosed with mild Autism this March of 2011. My brother had to come back from being deployed in Germany to help address it and get her the right help. Since she’s been in a special school in Illinois to focus on her Autism, she now is speaking in complete thoughts and communicating like never before. It’s organizations like Autism Speaks that fund programs and schools to help teach kids affected by it and research to help understand it more. So this is a cause that is very near and dear to me, and I will do everything I can to support Autism research as 1 in 88 children are diagnosed by the age of 8 each year. For boys it’s 1 in 54! — more than AIDS, diabetes, and caner combined. Yet, it is the most under-funded disorder?!
That said, let’s join Otis and the crew at the 10th Annual Carolinas Walk Now for Autism Speaks on Saturday, October 27th at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
If you can’t make the walk you can always donate, even the smallest donation helps!
