Today’s edition is the first that will appear solely online at thenew1037.com. This segment has been a part of my life and a part of our radio show, in one form or another, since the late 1990s.
To those who have responded to this segment (in person, on the phone, or in e-mail), thank you. To those who have never responded, but listened to and for it, thank you.
My greatest hope is that in a time in society where there is less and less positive, we were able to share a little every day together.
I don’t need to be told otherwise, when they write the epitaph on my radio career, this segment will be what will be mentioned first and most often.
Now just because you will no longer hear it, doesn’t mean it will go away-entirely. It will appear frequently (but probably not daily) here on the website.
There is a proverb that we are all familiar with that dates back to the 14th Century from Chaucer (you know, “The Canterbury Tales” guy): “There is an end to everything, to good things as well.”
I like to think we’ve done some good here over the years.
And that’s something you can hang your hat on.
