(CBS Radio) — Charlotte was the second stop Friday night on Tim McGraw’s “Two Lanes of Freedom Tour.”

The night began with performances by Love and Theft and Brantley Gilbert, then, with over 17 thousand fans on hand at the Verizon Amphitheater, McGraw took the stage around 9 p.m., after maneuvering his way through the crowd — for what would be a two hour performance.

McGraw, who turned 46 last week, began his 25 song set with “Where the Green Grass Grows,” from the album “Everywhere” — released in 1998. The entire performance was a perfect blend of old and new hits — from 90’s songs that fans loved back in the day, such as “All I want is a Life,” to his newly released songs, such as “The Highway Don’t Care” and “Truck Yeah,” both from his latest album, “Two Lanes of Freedom.”

Throughout the night, McGraw affectionately told the crowd, “Don’t stop,” as they cheered loudly after each song.

The “Two Lanes of Freedom Tour” stopped in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Saturday night — for a performance at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavillion.
