Billy Currington Debuts New Single “We Are Tonight” At HEARTest Yard
When Greg Olsen from the Carolina Panthers came to The New 103.7 with the idea of hosting a charity country show for his foundation The HEARTest Yard, we were overly excited to partake. Working with Greg has been a true pleasure and just goes to show you how caring and dedicated a man can be.
If you’re unfamiliar with The HEARTest Yard, here’s a little backstory. In January 2012, Greg and his wife Kara found out they were expecting and delight filled their hearts, especially when they found out it was actually twins. Soon, their happiness turned to panic when they found out one baby was going to be born with a severe congenital heart defect. But this didn’t sway Greg and Kara from giving their children the best possible life and treatment possible. They teamed up with Levine Children’s Hospital to begin the journey of The HEARTest Yard, a state-of-the-art program that allows children with congenital heart defects the best care including in-home care and treatment, private nursing and speech therapy. This program will be at no cost to the families who receive the services!
It wasn’t long before Billy Currington agreed to headline the show on September 9 and Coyote Joe’s was soon packed to the gills with Carolina Panthers players, Olsen’s family and thousands of country fans who wanted to give back. As Currington took the stage, the crowd went wild for the “Hey Girl” singer, who proceeded to sing an extensive set list of 19 songs throughout the night.
Of course, he gave fans a taste of his current single “Hey Girl,” which has made top 10 on the US Country charts giving Currington tenth top 10 hit! Watch him perform the song below:
But it didn’t end there. If you love “Hey Girl” you’re going to go crazy over his new single, the title track of his fifth studio album We Are Tonight. The song already has a bit of a teaser on YouTube you can watch (the video hasn’t even been released yet), but we have the full song performance from The HEARTest Yard below:
