You can’t help but love to hate social media. You can use it to stay connected with friends and family, read funny quips from your favorite celebrities, find new recipes, and (of course) enjoy endless cat videos. But if you spend enough time on the Internet, you know that there are a few types of people you’ll definitely encounter as you’re playing on Pinterest, posting on Facebook, and checking out Twitter and Instagram. They include:

The Over-Sharer
She uses social media as a play-by-play of her whole day. She’s grabbing a coffee before work. Now she’s in the elevator. Now she’s stuck in a long line as she tries to get lunch. Now she’s waiting for a meeting to start. Now she’s going to the gym. If anyone ever came to you and questioned you about this girl’s whereabouts, you would know exactly where to direct them.

The Wannabe Motivational Speaker
She can’t stop posting pictures of inspirational quotes pasted over shots of sandy beaches or tranquil forests. At least one of these quotes probably comes from Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe. Her favorites are usually ones that you used as your senior quote in your high school yearbook.

The “So In Loveeee” One
Do you want to see a selfie of the two of them smooching? You’ve got it. Want to see a picture of the romantic date night dinner they’re eating? Done. Want to see the flowers he brought to her work that made everyone soooo jealous? There they are. Just in case you missed it on Instagram, you can read her Facebook posts about how her babe is the best. She’ll also provide plenty of tweets about how she’s #blessed and #soinlove. Regardless of your own relationship status, this social media user is just. too. much.

The Negative Nancy
Her car broke down. Her boss yelled at her for no reason. Her head hurts. Her family drives her crazy. The gym is always crowded. Her dinner was cold. It doesn’t matter where or when or why, this girl will find something to complain about, and then she’ll tell you about it on social media. Maybe she and the wannabe motivational speaker should spend some time together….

The “You should read this” Girl
Her social media profiles are endless streams of articles that she’s shared with her network. She’s got all kinds of different sources of information. Whether it’s about finding a work-life balance or a new way to make Red Velvet cake, she’s got a link to show you.

The 24/7 User
It doesn’t matter what time of day or night you tweet her or comment on her Instagram picture, she’s right there with a response. She’s also read every article and seen every piece of news. It’s actually pretty convenient. You always know how to reach her and she can fill you in on what’s happening in the world. But does she sleep? No one really knows.
