So I was sitting here just about 3 months away from my next birthday, and realizing how old I’m getting when all of a sudden I saw a post about even more stuff to make me feel ancient. I couldn’t help but share it, so I took some of the ones that I really remembered and thought I would share em with you! Do you remember any of this or can ya relate a little?

-The Original Karate Kid is now 51, same age as Mr. Miyagi

-Backstreet Boys are celebrating their 20th anniversary with a Cruise

-There hasn’t been an a new issue of Teen People in 7 years!

-Super Mario 64 is 17 years old

-The Rugrats, are in their mid 20′s

I think the first time I ever became aware of “World Records,” I was watching “The Brady Bunch” with my sister and Bobby and Cindy Brady were trying to set a world teeter-totter record.

Then, I remember purchasing a new “Guinness Book of Records” every year at my school’s book fair. If you’ve never taken the chance to check one of these out, you must.

You will be blown away at how many records there are…and some of them are crazy to the point of thinking, “Who THINKS of stuff like this?!”

Which takes us to this guy.

A man in Panama with a STARTLING resemblance to Mr. T is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for skinning coconuts with his teeth.

HIS TEETH!

According to MSN, 64-year-old Andres Gardin, who uses the moniker “Coconut Peeler” shucked 500 coconuts in six hours last September, setting the world record. Guinness officials have yet to verify this claim.

Well, they need to get on it, cuz my man gets it done! See his skillz below…

TIm McGraw Talks Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift And Getting Older With ‘CBS This Morning’

Tim McGraw is not afraid of turning 50. Having just reached age 46 on May 1, the country star told CBS This Morning’s Gayle King in an interview today (May 17) that he’s even “looking forward” to that impending milestone.

“I hear that it’s the best time of your life,” he says. “So I’m getting prepared for my 50s.”

And based on Tim’s accomplishments of late, he has no reason to be anxious about that half-century mark. He’s in arguably the best physical shape of his life; he’s got three wonderful daughters with wife Faith Hill; and he’s just put out a strong new album, Two Lanes of Freedom, for a brand-new label.

It’s his 12th studio album in a recording career that has stayed strong and grown stronger since his debut 20 years ago.

Does he feel that Two Lanes is actually his best album to date? “I think so,” he says, adding, “I think I always feel that way. I look at every album as a progression from the last album.”

On top of everything else — including a headlining summer tour that kicked off earlier this month – he’s the subject of a television special airing this Sunday on CBS. Titled Tim McGraw’s Superstar Summer Night, it’s a two-hour concert extravaganza featuring Tim performing alongside such guests as John Fogerty, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, The Band Perry, Jason Aldean, his wife Faith, and ACM Entertainer of the Year winner Luke Bryan.

The show features a series of collaborations, too, including Florida Georgia Line with Nelly, and McGraw performing with Pitbull and Ne-Yo.

“I love singing with Ne-Yo,” McGraw tells Gayle King. “He’s made me a better singer.”

His collaboration on the song “Highway Don’t Care” with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban was something different, too.

Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles Recording Solo Album With Rick Rubin

It hasn’t been even a week since Jennifer Nettles tweeted out some cute photos of her with her five-month-old son Magnus, but now the Sugarland singer has unveiled the news that she is working again. Specifically, she is in the midst of recording her first solo album. And the man helping her with songs and production on the project is none other than Rick Rubin.

“I’m super-respectful of his pedigree,” Nettles says of Rubin, who has worked with such artists as Johnny Cash, The Band Perry, Neil Diamond, the Dixie Chicks, the Beastie Boys, Slayer and Tom Petty. “I still get nervous around him, in a kind of a music-crush way.”

The album, Nettles’ first without her Sugarland partner Kristian Bush, has no official release date yet, or even a title, but according to Rolling Stone it is due sometime this fall.

“This album is different than what I’ve done before,” Nettles told Rolling Stone. “What I do with Sugarland, primarily it’s stuff that starts with me and Kristian [Bush, Sugarland co-founder] writing together. It’s fun to play with that masculine energy, but for this I wanted to do something really personal – more intimate and emotional.”

While she is writing songs on her own this time (as well as working with the likes of Butch Walker and Sara Bareilles), she also says that the new music “won’t be a shock or surprise to a Sugarland fan.” At the same time, though, “hopefully it will bring in new listeners, too.”

The recordings so far have taken place not in Nashville but at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California, with such rock-oriented musicians as Ian McLagan, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, bassist Jason Lader, Matt Sweeney, and guitarist Smokey Hormel.

I am So so SOooo happy about the winner of this years American Idol. AND Candice Glover is sort of a local girl, she is from St. Helena Island, South Carolina.

This is the first year Iv watched since the Scotty McCreery Season and Keith Urban was the reason why I started watching.

Despite lower ratings, I thought American Idol was fantastic this season. Candice deserves to win! Whatever it is she is selling, Im buying it. I’m also looking forward to seeing what Jeanelle does at this point. She was the country girl that performed in those amazing sparkly boots. I’m betting she gets a record deal.

Keith Urban says he would love to return to American Idol, “I would. I mean, I literally enjoy coming to work every day and thats a rarity. I liked being part of a team, its like being in band”, Keith is quoted as saying

‘Voice’ Winner Cassadee Pope Filming Reality Show About Budding Country Career

After winning the third season of The Voice, life has been a whirlwind for Cassadee Pope. She signed a record deal immediately with Republic Nashville, and soon she was writing music and hitting the road to promote new single “Wasting All These Tears.”

These days, she’s also living life with cameras around her at all times. As she explained to Charlotte station The New 103.7, ”I am doing a docu-series. It’s less dramatic than a reality show, and it’s gonna be on CMT around September.”

The show will follow Cassadee on her journey from The Voice through the following months of recording, radio tours, and her debut as opening act on Rascal Flatts‘ upcoming summer tour. “I want to show the fans the nitty gritty of [making music].”

Part of her journey includes another hurdle: Winning over the country world after jumping in from the punk-pop world. She had been a member of the band Hey Monday since 2008, but on The Voice she won over fans and mentor Blake Shelton with a series of country songs, including a cover of Miranda Lambert’s “Over You.”

“People are a little hesitant,” Cassadee says of her transition to country, “but for the most part I think, on the show, I proved to a lot of people that as long as you’re real, you’re genuine and you’re singing songs you connect with, then no matter what genre people will embrace you.”

Lets Get Personal: I’ve Matured… But Not Much Has Changed…

This is a post I made on my personal Instagram earlier Tuesday and due to its popular response, I decided to share it with yall.

“#TransformationTuesday… Well not much has changed, I still have chubby cheeks, a chubby mid section, and I’m still a Big boy… And to be honest I’m just fine with that… To be honest it seems like others in this world only see that I’m a big guy, or in their words “Fat.” What’s crazy is when I was a kid, I told my Mom how kids would say that to me at school and she told me to Pray for them… Pray that they learn to not be so insecure that they have to put others down to make themselves feel better.. Pray that they find peace and can just be happy with themselves… And also realize that those that call others names are just jealous or mad about something they may lack.. It may be height, looks, or anything…

I’m not mad that I’m “Fat” and I won’t change it because I’m healthy… It’s taught me to have thick skin, to have a great sense of humor, and has made me confident… Does it hurt me that the only thing some people only see my size? Yea… But I’ll keep Prayin for ya and Sayin God Bless.. And you can keep actin like one of those kids I ignored years ago in Middle School…

So why put this all up here?? Because too many people are told they are too fat, too ugly, too this and too that… You are who you are, and if they don’t like it they don’t need to talk to ya, or stalk ya, or look at ya… They should be lucky enough to be in your life, it’s not a right, it’s a privilege…”

That post on Instagram wasn’t made to be anything other then inspiration to someone dealing with bullying or name calling themselves. The sad part is, these things still happen more then ever and people don’t think about the effects that they have on others. We need to talk to our younger generations and they need to realize that they need to be kinder and friendlier. The sad part is we all judge everyone on what they have on the outside before knowing who they really are. I know this because I do it myself sometimes, but I’m not proud of it.

I’ve learned now in life I need to encourage those around me to be more confident in themselves and sure of who they are. I’ve realized I need to be there for those I care about and talk about what bothers them in a hope to change it and make them feel better about things. Find people in this world that bring you up and make you feel better then those that criticize and bring you down, and you’ll have a better life. Like i said before, being in my life, or being in your life is a right, not a privilege.
