So your on family vacation at the beach, or maybe just hangin with some friends, its time to do something crazy. Ya know something life changing that could also end your life? Yea that doesn’t sound like a lot of fun, but I guess this guy thought it was all worth the fun!

If I see a 30 foot long, 50,000 pound creature in the ocean, all I would be thinkin is how much he wants to make me his lunch, not “Hey Yall, Watch this!” I guess my thought process is a little different in life but this guy had a blast doing it!

Lucky he didn’t get hurt, and now he’s famous worldwide. I guess its ok with some of those sea creatures but some animals like Manatee’s are on a protected species list and if you even touch them, you could get locked up. Just warning ya if your lookin to do something crazy!

The Civil Wars’ ‘The One That Got Away’ Video Is As Painful As It Is Beautiful

The acclaim for country-folk duo the Civil Wars is probably as high today as it’s ever been. They’ve won GRAMMYs, they’ve recorded with T-Bone Burnett and Taylor Swift, and their debut album (Barton Hollow) has been certified Gold by the R.I.A.A.

The trouble is, the two bandmates (Joy Williams and John Paul White) appear not to be in a place where they can truly enjoy their well-earned success. That’s because, even though they have a second album on the way (The Civil Wars, hitting stores August 6), Williams and White have–as far as we can tell–officially disbanded. Or they have as a touring entity, at least, based on a statement that was widely circulated late last year.

What’s unusual in this particular disbanding, though, is that they have gone ahead with their plans to release a second album this year. Earlier this month they debuted the album’s first single, “The One That Got Away”; and today they unveiled a video for the song.

The video isn’t high concept. More of a behind-the-scenes-type presentation, it consists mostly of a series of shots showing Williams and White recording the song in the studio.

But it’s a powerful watch nonetheless, as it seems to show that whatever rift exists between these two talented musicians is heartbreakingly real.

Mind, body, spirit…. it’s all important. Healthy and whole people are interested in all three areas. But I suspect I too often take my body for granted. Oh, I eat pretty well and exercise when I can. But I’m sure I don’t pay enough attention to the physical.

I can relate to one man who complained about exercise. “It’s not that I am against it,” he said, “it’s just that when I look at my body, I feel it’s already been punished enough.” Even champion archer Rick McKinney – a superb athlete – confessed that he regularly ate chocolate chip cookies for breakfast. He once jokingly referred to “the basic four food groups” as a Big Mac, fries, a shake and a lemon tart.

Okay – I take a little better care of myself than that. But let me say something we all may need to hear: you have a GREAT body. Whether you look or feel all that well, your body is no less than phenomenal. Imagine — all of this will happen to you today:

Your heart will likely beat over 100,000 times.
Your blood will travel about 168,000 miles.
You will breathe about 23,000 times.
You will drink three pounds of liquids.
You will turn in your sleep 25-30 times (this is not counted as exercise, by the way).
You’ll probably speak about 48,000 words and use some 7,000,000 brain cells.

You see? You have a great body. It is an intricate piece of technology and a sophisticated super-computer. It runs on peanuts and even regenerates itself. Your relationship with your body is one of the most important relationships you’ll ever have. And since repairs are expensive and spare parts are hard to come by, it pays to make that relationship good.

How do you maintain a good relationship with your body? By following the things you already know about healthy relationships.

For one, you know that good relationships are built on listening. Do you listen attentively to your body? Really listen? It may be trying to tell you something.

Second, you know that understanding is at the heart of good relationships. Do you try to learn and understand what your body needs? You wouldn’t hurt a good friend; do you know when you’re hurting yourself?

Good relationships are also built on kindness. Are you kind to your body without overly-indulging? Do you know that saying “no” may be a kind thing to do? Are you tough enough to know when to push and wise enough to know when to back off?

And finally, you already know that good relationships thrive on respect and trust. Do you show respect or do you show dishonor by the things you put in it and on it and the way you treat it? Do you trust it to be faithful to you as you’re faithful to it?

One of your most important relationships is that with your body. It’s a relationship you’ll have for the rest of your life, so it’s one you will want to nurture.

Take good care of it – you have a great body.

And that’s something you can hang your hat on.

At various times in my life I, and I’m sure all of us, have had our favorite cereals: Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Frosted Flakes, Cookie Crisp, all of these have a special place in my heart forever.

However, in college…at times I feel like I LIVED off of Cap’n Crunch Crunchberries. If you put a box in front of me right now, I would not stop until it was empty. LOVE ME SOME Cap’n Crunch!

So, imagine my surprise to find that there is some controversy surrounding my favorite naval treat.

The designers for the Captain Crunch cereal are being criticized for incorrectly stating Captain Crunch’s rank. He’s not actually a Captain, but a Commander. There has been no official statement from the company.

Today the spitfire, foul mouthed, beloved country singer Blake Shelton celebrates his 37th birthday and before The Voice, before the platinum records… back in 2005 he was just a long haired, ”Austin” singing cowboy who was asked to do a duet with a relatively new country singer named Miranda Lambert.

During CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert, Shelton and Lambert took the stage to perform their own rendition of “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma,” the David Frizzell & Shelly West classic. Having just met not long before backstage, they both claim this was the moment they knew they were falling in love.

There was only one problem. Blake was married to Kaynette Gern at the time.

The two had gotten married in 2003 but their history was no comparison to the obvious immediate chemistry he had with Lambert. ”I was a married guy, you know? Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage,” Shelton remembers during VH1′s Behind The Music.

He’s helping to heal the heartland, he’s hot, he’s married to someone who is the hottest female country star on the planet, he’s having a birthday today, it’s Blake Shelton.

In my line of work you get to meet a lot of very talented folks and he by far is one of the COOLEST guys in country music. The first time I met him, he came to talk to me on my show when “Ol Red” just came out. He asked me to sing back up for him on the radio!! I happily obliged! I sure wish I had audio proof of this but I promise you it happened. I became a legend that day (in my own mind).

Blake has won just about every award there is and HIS protege’s have always won on the Voice. I believe it will happen again this year with that amazing 16 year old he coaches.

(CBS Radio) — We’ve all been told countless times that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but are some of our breakfast choices worse than eating a candy bar?

Indeed. Many “on the go” breakfasts contain just as much sugar, if not more sugar than a candy bar.

- Have you ever wondered how healthy breakfast bars really are? Well, many breakfast bars contain around the same amount of sugar as a candy bar. Enough said.

- If you think yogurt is a healthy breakfast, you might want to reconsider. There are a plethora of healthy yogurt options, such as Greek yogurt. However, many brands of yogurt, especially yogurt that has fruit on the bottom, has an extremely high sugar content — making it more unhealthy for you than a candy bar.

- Your morning smoothie may taste delicious, but unless you have prepared it yourself with fresh fruits, you may be consuming the equivalent to three or four candy bars. Many of the prepared smoothies available for purchase at Smoothie shops or fast food chains contain artificial sweeteners and syrups that are downright unhealthy.

- You can tell just by looking at many boxes of cereal that they are full of sugar. Any kind of cereal that is frosted, contains marshmallows, cookies, etc., is probably higher in sugar than a candy bar.

- You’re about to reach for a muffin because muffins are healthy, right? Well…it depends. Many muffins have around the same amount of sugar as a candy bar. In fact, many muffins have more calories and sugar than even a doughnut.

The best way to determine the amount of sugar you are consuming or how “healthy” your breakfast really is, is to check the nutrition label on the back of the food that you purchase at the grocery store. Additionally, you can obtain the nutritional information of most foods sold at restaurants or fast-food chains by searching online, or by asking the restaurant/fast-food chain directly.
